Do I build the pins back up with 6011 or 6013 rod and then finish it off with the hardfacing rod or do I build the entire amount back up with hardfacing rod Stoody 35.

The skids Im welding are 12 thick by 3 wide. Hardfacing is usually applied after the grousers are rebuilt to increase their life. Its specifically designed for abrasion and that what its used for. Quench harden it if you want to make it harder but no point concentrating too much time on it with hardfacing materials.
