Welding 6010. Downhill welding with 6010 and other XX10 electrodes is part of the procedures in API 1104 American Petroleum Institute Standard for welding pipelines and other related facilities In the field a 532 rod welds farther with one electrode and also is just much more. The main difference between an E6010 and an E6011 is that the E6010 is designed specifically for DC current while the E6011 will run well on AC.
E6010 is an all position electrode including vertical down hand. If you have already used the 6010 and 6011 welding rods you would readily notice that there is a semblance between these two types of welding rods. 6010 has high cellulose sodium-type coating whereas 6011 has high cellulose potassium-type coating.
This is a fundamental exercis.
This is a fundamental exercis. Unless you are stuck with an AC-only welder use E6010. If you have already used the 6010 and 6011 welding rods you would readily notice that there is a semblance between these two types of welding rods. There is caveat to this recommendation.
