Some exhaust are stainless steel.
This will cause porosity. It definitely welds like it is zinc coated because there are white flakes inside of the pipe after welding just like if it was galvanized. To weld an exhaust pipe you need to cut and clean the area. Dont let the melting aluminum interfere with the weld pool.
