Working Principle of Tungsten Inert Gas Welding.

In a split-pole welding generator a drooping volt-ampere characteristic is obtained owing to the effect of armature reaction. The basic principle of this welding procedure is that an electric arc is generated between the carbon electrode and the metal maintaining at the voltage of nearly 35-40 volts. When the arc is obtained intense heat so produced melts the work below the arc and forming a molten metal pool. But for understanding the purpose we can always consider relative motion of conductors wrt the flux produced by the field winding.
